A community of leaders

One team. One heart.

We're leaders across every discipline who believe strong, human-centered teams deliver exceptional results — and that you never have to choose between caring for people and hitting your goals.

A fleet of different boats — a sailboat, a tugboat, a rowboat, a trawler — sailing together toward a coral and gold sunrise, each flying the same small red pennant
The genesis

It started with a triangle.

Product, engineering, and user experience. The iron triangle. Three disciplines most companies set against each other — trading scope for deadlines, deadlines for design, design for scope — as if leadership were a negotiation between rivals.

We learned something better, together: when those three lead as one team, the negotiation dissolves and a leadership team appears. Products ship better. People grow faster. The work gets more fun. That alignment felt so different from business-as-usual that it needed a name — and the name was One Team, One Heart.

Once you've sailed that way, you notice the triangle was never the point. The same alignment works for every discipline that leads — people, design, data, finance, support. So we opened the circle, and we keep opening it.

The fleet

Captains and crew.

We are all captains of some ships, and crew on others.

Nobody in this community is only in charge, and nobody is only along for the ride. Depending on the voyage — the project, the season, the storm — each of us leads, and each of us pulls.

What binds the fleet isn't rank or title. It's the same small flag flying from every mast: the belief that relationships and results belong together. If you fly that flag, you're already one of us.

Two promises

One heart, two promises.

We unite around two truths that work together, not against each other. Honor both, and the whole fleet moves faster.

Community first

A solid, trusting, human-centered community unlocks creativity and resilience. When people feel safe and connected, they bring their best ideas forward. Trust is the foundation — everything else builds from there.

Results that matter

High standards, clear goals, meaningful outcomes. Excellence isn't optional — it's how we serve our customers and stakeholders. Great results flow from great relationships, and each reinforces the other.

Building and Managing High-Performance Distributed Teams

Our own Alberto Silveira — technology leader and lifelong sailor — wrote the book on building distributed teams that put people first and still deliver. Practical, honest, and very much in the spirit of the fleet.
